Mixte Wrestling In Nylon

The power of food

begin by saying two things:
  1. today is the birthday of my husband, my knight-poet, DAVID ( 43 years though it seems ...) and I discovered other blogs
  2. of beautiful moms Italian ( and Daniel Patrick ).
As I was looking for ideas for the menu tonight, I was reminded of watching a beautiful book purchased several years ago ... I do not know if had never read "Chocolat " or seen the movie ... The same author also wrote " The cookbook by Joanne Harris " (ed.Garzanti). Having an English father and French mother, has dedicated this work to the French cuisine, inserting pictures of beautiful views that fans will be leaving to go! (Sorry, but if there is a "mal d'Africa" \u200b\u200bfor people who have been on the continent black, I think there is also the "mal di Francia", why do I suffer terribly!) And even though we are now vegetarian, sometimes I search few recipes doable without too many seasonings or additions that encumbers.

I firmly believe in the power of food as a means to stay healthy, but also to heal, because prepare a dish with love and dedication (even if only for themselves) means to transmit sound energy who shall eat it!
Now, despite this winter does not seem such a fall-is infinite, this year! - Against the evils of the season is onion soup , Which I just found the recipe in the book of Harris.
I've customized a bit 'to our taste, of course, because the original ra: butter, onions (obviously), garlic, flour, beef or vegetable broth, white wine, bay leaf, thyme, salt, parsley and Swiss cheese (if you want the doses, write me and I send them to you!).
Here's my recipe instead (for 3 / 4 persons):
  • 5 medium onions blondes
  • 1 lt ca. vegetable stock (including nut bio)
  • 50 grams of margarine (or extra virgin olive oil)
  • 2 Tbsp. flour (optional)
coarsely chopped onions (this is the affected part of the preparation!) And put them in a pan with the vegetable stock already boiling. Cook for at least 40/45 min semi-covered (must be reduced a little '). So with the immersion blender, blend coarsely all (if you do not like the pieces, blend more). In the meantime, put the margarine in a pan, when melted put the flour, stir and cook a few min.
Then add it to the onions, stirring and mixing thoroughly. Season with salt (and pepper, if desired) and serve hot with slices of hot bread, fried. That
you see in the picture is my soup with salad sprinkled with organic flowers (rose petals, calendula and cornflower) of Sonnentor.
This version also love to my husband who usually can not stand onions.

Enjoy e. .. take care of you!
